The WA Social Golf Club Championships (WA SGCC)

The Western Australian Social Golf Club Championships (WASGCC) is still in development. The inaugural event is planned for late 2009 or in 2010. As soon as the event details are finalised, we will post information here.

The WA SGCC will follow the same development model as NSW and Queensland with a one-day Championship held in the inaugural year and them expand into an event with Qualifying rounds and a Final. It will be a competition between teams of four representing their social golf club playing stableford and aggregating the individual stableford scores to make the team total. The three best scores from each team of four are totalled to determine the team score and the best team total wins. The fourth-best score from each team is used to break ties. The winner will be awarded the honour to call their social golf club the official State Champion. Player's are required to have a current official Australian handicap to compete and the event.

Each social golf club team of four is split into pairs and plays with a pair from another club. Cards are marked by the players from the other team in the group. All scores are entered on GOLF Link and count towards players' official handicaps. There is no division between male and female competitors. Teams compete representing their social golf clubs with no limits on the gender composition of the teams: all male, all female and mixed teams are welcome to participate. The events are supported by Golf Australia and the governing State amateur bodies and are official Championships.
